Weapon snatcher surrenders in south Kashmir

Srinagar: Mohammad Amir, who along with his associates had snatched service rifle from a police man near Tawi Bridge in Jewel Chowk Jammu, Wednesday surrendered before Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shopian Tahir Saleem, sources said.
Three Kashmiri youth identified as Amir, Masood and Shahid, all residents of Shopian district, attacked police constable Mohammad Hanief posted as Personal Security Officer of Anjuman Minhaj-e-Rasool chairman Maulana Dehlavi, near the main Tawi bridge in Jammu last week.
Police sources said that two accused were arrested immediately after the incident however Amir along with the AK-47 rifle was still at large.
SSP Shopian confirmed the surrender of Amir and said that they were in Jammu to recover the snatched weapon.
