DIG Armed inaugurates cricket tournament

Srinagar: To bridge the gap between the police and public, JKAP 9th Bn organized a cricket tournament under Civic Action Programme at Estates Cricket Ground Sempora.
The tournament was inaugurated by Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) IRP/Armed Kashmir Rafiq-ul-Hassan. The closing ceremony of the volleyball tournament was also held at APC Zewan.
Speaking on the inaugural ceremony, Hassan said that these events are being organized to channelize the talent of youth towards positive direction and to provide a platform to harness their capabilities in the field of sports and explore their talent.
Besides, officers of JKAP 9th Bn and a good number of youth witnessed the inaugural ceremony. Later DIG Armed/IRP Kashmir, Rafiq-ul-Hassan also attended the closing ceremony of volleyball tournament at APC Zewan.
The final match of the tournament was played between Friends Club and South Hall. The DIG later interacted with the players and distributed certificates, volleyball kits and uniform to the participants.
