Srinagar: Ten days after residents of Dogripora Rafiabad in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district locked the Government Middle School Dogripora protesting shortage of teaching staff, the school continues to remain shut in the standoff.
The residents told Kashmir Reader that the department had ordered two teachers associated with Total Literacy Campaign to join the school but villagers refused to open the school and let them join as “both were under matric”.
On Thursday the zonal education officer visited the school and assured villagers that they will post two more teachers within two days but the residents refused to open the school till the department posts the teachers for the school.
