Budgam villages cordoned off

Budgam: Acting on a specific input on movement of suspected militants, a joint team of army and SOG of J&K police laid a cordon in Dharmon village of Budgam district on Wednesday evening.
“After some inputs regarding the presence of militants in the village, a cordon was laid,” police sources said.
The government forces started search operation in the area, around 5 kilometers from Magam. “There is information about movement of militants in the village,” a police official told Kashmir Reader.
Another report from Rathsun and Chewdara villages in Magam belt said that these villages were also cordoned off.
Riyaz Ahmad a resident said that a team of SOG and army laid a search operation and also restricted the movement of vehicles and commoners.
However SDPO Magam Syed Fayaz told Kashmir Reader that it cordon was lifted adding that it was just a speculative search.
