Auto driver drowns in Jhelum

Pampore: A 26-year-old driver died on Friday when he slipped into river Jhelum while washing his load carrier at Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Police said Ferooz Ahmad Nadroo son of Zahoor Ahmad, a resident of Letterbal Pampore slipped and drowned into river Jehlum when he was servicing his vehicle.
Nadroo was immediately fished out in an unconscious stae and rushed to nearby sub-district hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Police later handed over the body to relatives for last rites, SHO Pampore Manzoor Ahmad Beigh said.
