Ganderbal: The annual urs of renowned Sufi saint Hazrat- E- Sheikh Haji Musa (RA) was celebrated with devotion and religious fervor Monday night at Benhama in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
Braving cold weather, devotees thronged the shrine and offered prayers. Every year, the Urs commences on 11th March with the recitation of Quran, Daroud Azqar and Khatmat-ul-Mozama and followed by night long prayers and concludes on 13th March with joint prayers.
The Ulemas threw light on the life, religious services and teachings and spiritual strength of the saint who had devoted his life to the service and preaching of Islam, for the last years the holy shrine of Hazrat-E-Sheikh Haji Musa (RA) has ever been spiritual center of devotion and symbol of inspiration to the seeker of truth and perfection. Ahmad Kumar, a religious preacher said that Islam teaches us the lesson of humanity and sympathy and stressed upon devotes to work for the welfare of common man and follow the teachings of Prophet (PBUH). He said Hazrat-E-Sheikh Haji Musa (RA) followed the teachings of Prophet (PBUH) and reached to this point of spirituality.
Arrangement of food is done by the local people for the devotees who visit the shrine, said Rouf Banday, a local Youth.
