Padgampora gunfight; militant’s parents brought to persuade him to surrender

Srinagar: The government forces on Thursday brought close relatives of one of the holed up militants in Padgampora village of Awantipora area in Pulwama district and were persuading him to surrender.
Forces were using loudspeaker to persuade the militant to surrender, local sources said.
They said that police authorities brought in the parents of Jahangir Ahmed Ganai to convince him to surrender.
Jahangir, a local militant is believed to be holed up in a residential house of Padgampora village. The village was cordoned off early today triggering a gunfight between militants and forces.
