Srinagar: The vigilance organization on Wednesday arrested an enforcement inspector rank officer of Lakes and Waters Ways Development Authority (LAWDA) for issuing illegal permission for construction of three buildings in violation of the rules.
According to the vigilance organization, Ishrat Aslam Darzi, enforcement inspector of LAWDA was booked under the FIR No. 14/2016, under sections of 5 (1) (d) r/w 5(2) PC Act, Svt 2006 section 109,188 and 120-B RPC for violating the official rules.
“The case was registered after vigilance organization conducted an inquiry and found that the accused enforcement officer has in connivance with the concerned officers of LAWDA managed two separate building permissions on the name of his mother for construction of garages servants quarter and compound walling towards Nala side on the plot of land comprising khasra No. 3813/1546 situated at Gupt Ganga Nishat and construction of two storied residential house at Gupt Ganga,” it said.
“The constructions were carried in total violation with respect to parameters approved in the building permission. The said officer by abuse of their official position while being posted in JK LAWDA (Enforcement wing) in violation and total disregard of the approved building permissions has managed these huge constructions and conferred undue advantage upon himself and his mother Ms Farooqa Aslam,” statement added.
The vigilance organization said that the said officer was already involved in Case FIR No. 48/2015 which was registered with the organization in connection with the construction of some structures/buildings in violation of building permissions around Dal Lake.
