Police promises people-friendly attitude in Pampore

Pampore: In order to bridge the gap between the general public and police, a police-public meeting was organized by the district police Awantipora at Pampore.
A select number of people including saffron growers, local traders, transporters and prominent citizens of the area attended the meeting.
The participants highlighted various issues including the problem of drug abuse, dumping of construction material on roads, traffic jamming on Srinagar-Jammu national highway at Drangbal and Kadlabal Pampore and other important problems faced by the general public. Superintendet of Police Awantipora Mohammad Zahid patiently heard the issues and promised that they would be looked into at real earnest.
The participants appreciated the police drive against drug peddlers. They also hailed the police for conducting public contact programmes and assured their full support and cooperation in curbing the menace of social crimes and in maintaining law and order. Speaking on the occasion Zahid said that main aim of conducting such interactions were to solicit suggestions and support from the people for the better policing.
