Srinagar: Terming the statement of Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti as “ridiculous”, the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah on Wednesday said it doesn’t suit the champions of pellet guns to talk about peace and political processes.
Mehbooba had on Tuesday asked youth to support her in bringing peace in the Valley and that she would take forward political process on Kashmir and create employment avenues for educated jobless youth.
“The servants of Delhi before making such remarks should realise their stature. They talk about providing jobs to youth but what about those killed and maimed last year. No struggling nation has sacrificed its right of freedom for jobs and development,” Shah said in a statement.
“Those beating the drums of political process should tell us who gifted AFSPA to the people of Jammu Kashmir, who gave licence to Jagmohan to go on killing spree, who supervised the massacres like Bijbehara, Sopore and Gawkadal, who razed to ashes the Kupwara, and who brought the communal forces in the State,” he added.
Shah further added, “When were Kashmiris against the peace but the peace. The ruling class should never forget that Kashmir issue is a living reality which cannot be overshadowed by jobs and development.”
About the talent of Kashmiri youth, Shah said they can express themselves in every field and any part of the globe but unfortunately they are suppressed and pushed to the wall.
“Providing jobs to youth is not any favour. India and its puppets should stop looting our resources. It’s both shocking and shameful that the so-called head of the state is speaking the tongue of that party against which she had launched a volley of tirades before joining hands with,” he said.
Terming Mehbooba’s agenda of progress and development as “deceit”, Shah said “talking about such issues after bringing more pellet guns to Valley is the height of shamelessness”.
