SRINAGAR: BuherKadal Badshah and Dachigam Hanguls register comfortable wins in the league matches of 2nd edition of Kashmir Super League played at Dubai earlier this week.
In the first match which turned out to be a one sided affair BuherKadal Badshah beat Khankah Hamdans by a huge margin of 100 runs.
Batting first BuherKadal Badshah captain Imran Malik provided a blistering start to his side scoring quick fire 58. In his 32 ball knock Malik hit four boundries and five hits for maximum. He departed when BuherKadal Badshah score was 99; his good work was carried forward by middle order batsmen Shahid Dar who scored 55 from 31 balls and Moazam Naqash who scored almost run a ball 34.
BuherKadal Badshah took full advantage of wayward bowling performance by Khankah Hamdans bowlers as BuherKadal batsmen put a mammoth total of 231 on the board, which is the highest score of the tournament so far.
Arif was the only Khankah bowler who showed some disciplined bowling taking two wickets for 26 runs.
In reply Khankah Hamdans, in a must-win situation, saw captain Adil lanker out early at 10 when the total score was 11.
Wickets fell at regular intervals though all rounder Arif did some good hitting and reached a quick fire 22 in just 10 balls but was bowled by a fast one from Munner Mustafa who came back strong from a back injury. Out of form batsman Mumazil Hayat (25 of 15 balls ) and Faheem Sherwani tried to stitch a partnership but got out in quick succession. Shahid Pandit (27 of 17 Balls) did some hitting but fell short of their target of 232 and ended at 131 in 15 overs.
Furqan was the pick of the bowlers from Badshah who took 4 for 21 .Muneer Mustafa and khalid Ahad took two wickets each.
Buher Kadal Badshah skipper Imran Malik was adjudged the man of the match for his belligerent knock of 58 runs.
In the second match of the day Dachigam Hanguls beat Pahalgam Panthers by five wickets.
Pahalgam Panthers opener Yawar Bhat played a cautious knock scoring 69 in 60 balls and showing some class after Yawar’s departure none of the (PP) batsman could not contribute much with the bat and down the order Suhail Qadir provided much needed impetus to the scoring rate hitting some lusty hits scoring quick fire 22 as panthers put a total of 146/6 on the board.
For Dachigam Hanguls Imad ur Rehamn and Syed Owais bowled economical spells. .
In reply Dachigam Hanguls got a worst start as they lost two quick wickets which put the brakes on the scoring rate of Hanguls.
But middle order batsman Amjad Khan as usual came all guns blazing scoring a belligerent 76 from just 42 balls with the help of 10 fours and four mighty sixes to take Dachigam home with an easy win with five wickets remaining.
Amjad Khan was adjudged the man of the match for his brilliant 76.
With this win Dachigam have reached to the quarterfinals and will face Rajbagh Royals on Friday.
