SRINAGAR: Disciplined bowling performance by the Lal Bazar lions bowlers helped their side to a thumping nine wicket win over Hokerser Rangers in their last league match of 2nd edition Kashmir Super League played at Dubai earlier this week .
Manzoor Najjar bowled economical three over spell conceding just three runs and bagged two wickets, Rouf Ahmad, Tanveer Ahmad and Salman Ahmad also bagged two wicket each and rip through the Hokerser Rangers line-up for a paltry total of 47 runs in just nine overs which is the tournaments lowest score so far.
Hokerser Rangers skipper won the toss and opted to bat first but the decision to bat first backfired as none of the Hokerser Rangers batsmen provided any resistance to the disciplined bowling to Lalbazar lions.
Hokerser Rangers batsmen threw away their wickets courtesy poor shot selection, except Irfan Ahmed run a ball 15 runs with the help of 3 fours none of the Hokerser Rangers batsmen couldn’t make it into two digit figure as the scorecard with score card looked like a mobile number.
In reply Lal Bazar lions just took seven overs to achieve the set target of 48 losing the wicket of their skipper but majid Manzoor continued with his excellent batting display and scored a quick 28 in 17 balls with 6 fours and was supported by Junaid .
Tanveer Ahmad was adjudged the man of the match for his excellent bowling and fielding performance.
Though lal Bazaar had missed to qualify for the quarterfinals and Hokersar had already qualified but failed to keep the momentum of the previous wins.
Hokerser Rangers will meet Bohri Kadal Badshah in the quarterfinal to be played on 10th March at Ajman Oval.
