Baramulla: A mega blood donation camp was held at district hospital Baramulla in collaboration with civil society organisations on Friday. A large number of people from different walks of life including lawyers, doctors, government employees, policemen, journalists from print and electronic media and other people from different areas of district donated their blood. The hospital sources said that 44 pints of blood were collected and stored upto 2 pm. The doctors expected to collect sixty pints by the conclusion of the camp.
Chief medical officer Baramulla Dr Bashir Ahmad and medical superintendent district hospital Baramulla Dr Syeed Masood thanked the people of Baramulla. They said the hospital needed blood everyday because the blood is provided to every needy patient free of cost. “The donated blood would be preserved in the blood bank to save precious lives of the needy people,” Dr Ahmad said.
Dr Bashir appealed to the people of Baramulla to participate in such camps and donate their blood to save lives.
