GANDERBAL: Patient care was badly hit in government hospitals across Ganderbal district after National Health Mission (NHM) employees went on 72-hours long strike at Pratap Park in Srinagar demanding regularization of their services.
Work was badly affected in the primary health centres, sub-centres, blocks sub-divisional and district level hospitals largely dependent on NHM employees. The routine vaccination of children up to five years of age, conducted twice in on Wednesdays and Saturdays was also impacted for dearth of staff.
CMO Ganderbal Peerzada Fayaz Ahmad, however, said that the NHM strike has not affected patient care in the district.
“I have not received such type of complaint from my BMO,s from any part of the district,” Ahmad said.
“We are not dependent on NHMs only, we have other staff too and we are managing the patient care accordingly,” he said.
