Police clarifies Kashmir Reader reports

Srinagar: This is in reference to two news stories regarding Palhalan dated Feb 23rd 2017 and Feb 28th 2017 published in Daily Kashmir Reader and also uploaded on their website.
The district police administration has informed that the news story published on February 23rd  titled “Search Op resisted in Palhalan, many injured” has been presented by  mixing up and connecting  two entirely different incidents.
An  incident of stone pelting  took place in Pattan Town in late afternoon on February 22nd  in which staff bus of SKIMS Soura was attacked and one lady doctor got injured. In this regard  a case FIR No 29/2017 Dated 22/02/2017 was registered in Police Station Pattan and all the accused involved in this crime were arrested on the same day and produced before the court.
This incident happened on  February 22  in Pattan town and not on February 23. On February 23 there was an incident of stone pelting in Raipora Palhalan.  After conclusion of search operation by police and security forces  in the area some miscreants pelted stones for which FIR No 31/2017 Dated 23/02/2017 was registered.
Not only the time and place mentioned is wrong but learned reporter had mistaken the SKIMS bus as CRPF bus. Moreover with regard to anti-militancy operation it is reiterated that the operation wasn’t called off because of stone pelting but after completion of search operation.
In another news story published on February 28th  titled “ Cops hunting for Palhalan residents” the reporter is mentioning that stone pelting has been taking place continuously for last 10 days which is far from truth.  There was a incident of stone pelting on February 23rd and no such incident of stone pelting took place after that. The new stories are factually incorrect and far from the truth and are therefore rebutted.
