SRINAGAR: Huriyat Conference (G) on Tuesday demanded immediate release of pro-freedom leaders and activists saying “hundreds of innocent youth detained under frivolous cases are languishing in jails and police stations across the valley and most of them are detained under infamous PSA”.
The conglomerate in a statement issued here blamed the state administration for pushing youth to the wall and termed it “extreme vandalism and bullying”.
“Denying political space, choking genuine voices and continuous crackdown on the pro- freedom leaders and activists is deliberate act to disrupt situation and create uncertainty in state,” it said.
Referring to the continuous detention of Ghulam Mohammad Khan Sopori, “harassing and police raids on Muslim League activist, Khizir Mohammad Ganai, detaining Sajad Ahmad Khan and Bashir Ahmad Bhat in JIC for last three months, and slapping second PSA against Baramulla youths including Ishfaq Ahmad Sheikh, Suhail Ahmad Sheikh, Waseem Ahmad Farash, Maqsood Ahmad Khan and Asif Ahmad Dar”, Hurriyat demanded their unconditional release.
“Ameer Hamza Shah, Mohammad Rustum Bhat , Abdul Subhan Bhat, Mohammad Yusuf Lone, Sheikh Mohamad Yusuf, Master Ali Mohammad, Shakeel Ahmad Yatoo, Meer Hafez Ullah, Mohammad Yusuf Falahi, Mohamad Shaban Dar, Raies Ahmad Mir, Abdul Ahad Para, Mohammad Rafiq Ganai, Mushtaq Ahmad Hura, Shakeel Ahmad Bhat, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, Ghulam Mohammad Tantray, Abdul Majid Rather, Ghulam Mohammad Lone, Bashir Ahmad Sofi, Manzoor Ahmad Bhagat, Hakim Showkat, Assad Ullah Parray, Shakir Ahmad Mir, Ghulam Hassan Malik, Haji Ghulam Mohammad Mir, Ab Hamid Parray ,Javed Ahmad Phuley, Nazir Ahmad Manteo, Mohammad Shaban Khan, Manzoor Ahmad Kaloo and more than five hundred other detainees arrested during people’s uprising are lodged in different jails and interrogation centres,” it said.
