Arms recovered from truck engaged in cross LoC trade

Srinagar: Police have arrested a truck driver engaged in the cross LoC trade and seized a loaded pistol from him, a Jammu based Newspaper reported on Wednesday.
Police have also launched a series of raids in the valley Kashmir after the recovery of the pistol.
Report quoting police sources said that they have learnt from the central intelligence agencies that militants have been smuggling in arms and ammunition through the cross-LoC trade.
As per reports Baramulla District Police on Tuesday intercepted a truck on Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway and took the driver of a truck into custody. One Chinese pistol with ammunition was recovered from the driver’s possession, the report said.
Report said that after interrogating the driver hailing from Kulgam area, in south Kashmir different police teams have swung into action for arresting the militants and their over-ground workers involved in smuggling of arms and ammunition through cross-LoC trade from Muzzafarabad.
