Minister’s cavalcade ‘attacked’

PULWAMA: A cavalcade of minister of state for forests Zahoor Ahmad Mir was attacked with stones in Ratnipora village of Pulwama district on Monday.
Zahoor was on way to the home of PDP leader Showkat Gayoor, whose mother had passed away, when scores of youths threw stones at the cavalcade, forcing his security guards to fire empty rounds in air, local residents said.
However, Zahoor said his cavalcade had not been stoned.
Pulwama senior superintendent of police Rayees Mohammad Bhat told Kashmir Reader that three policemen—Ashiq Hussain, Mushtaq Ahmad and Altaf Ahmad— were injured during a stone-pelting clash. He said no cavalcade was attacked.
