Indo-Pak conflict is an ‘ideological war’: Dr Qasim

SRINAGAR: Muslim Deeni Mahaz (MDM) chief Dr Muhammad Qasim on Monday said the real cause of strain in relations between India and Pakistan is not any LoC or border skirmishes but an “ideological war” between the two.
In a statement issued here, Qasim said the Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir and the pro-freedom leadership “should understand that the ideological forces of India have never accepted the existence of Pakistan”.
“Even today, the map of India in the RSS headquarters in Nagpur shows Pakistan as part of India. When Gandhi took over the leadership of Congress in 1915, the party ceased to be political and administrative reformist movement and transformed into a movement of revival of the ‘Hindu political supremacy’ with the sole aim of creating a Hindu supremacist subcontinent. But the creation of Pakistan destroyed all these plans of Congress leadership,” he said.
Qasim said it is “unbearable” for ideological forces of India that a religion from Arab peninsula could gain political supremacy along with a free country as it destroyed their aim of creating a “Hindu” subcontinent forever.
“Since the first and only problem in creation of Hindu subcontinent is Pakistan, therefore the Hindu ideological forces want to break apart Pakistan. The conflict between these countries needs to be understood in this context. Kashmir is their battleground,” he added.
MDM chief said Muslims in Kashmir have the “opinion” either to align with the Sarnath lions and work for Hindu supremacy or for strengthening the Muslim forces in the subcontinent.
