Hajin teen goes missing, police registers report

Hajin: A 19-year-old student Mushtaq Ahmad Rather has gone missing from Hajin bus stand while returning from a medical consultation at psychiatry hospital in capital Srinagar. A resident of Khos Mohallah in Hajin village of Bandipora, the teenager was accompanied by his father before they parted ways in the bus stand as the father went to buy fruits and asked him to return to his home.
“I asked Mushtaq to go and I took another route to reach home after buying some oranges but he never reached home,” Rather’s father Muhammad Sabir said.
“He is untraced ever since. We tried to locate him everywhere but he is not traceable,” Sabir said.
Rather is a pursuing undergraduate course and finished the final year examination only five days back.
Sabir said his son complained of some pain in his head after completing examinations. He was intending to prepare for the entrance examination at Kashmir University.
“Sensing that the headache must be linked to some psychiatric ailment, I took him for a medical check up to Srinagar but on return he went missing,” Sabir said. The family has lodged a missing report in Hajin Police station. The police have initiated process to trace him out, a police official said.
