Shopian: Snow clearance on the Mughal Road has not been started yet with the highway near Hirpora still covered with four feet of snow. Officials from Mechanical department say that it is not right time to start snow clearance process due to the apprehension of more snowfall in upper reaches.
Executive Engineer Mechanical Division Srinagar, Muhammad Ismail Chichi who has additional charge of Anantnag, told Kashmir Reader that they have received orders from Chief Engineer Mughal Road to start work from 15th of March. “March 15 isn’t right time to start snow clearance process as there are apprehensions of more snowfall,” he said.
He, however, added that they will start the work as per government orders.
