KU missing student was under stress: Police

Srinagar: The Student of university of Kashmir, Aqib Mushtaq Malik son of Mushtaq Ahmad, who was reportedly missing has been traced and handed over to the university authorities Friday, police said.
According to a police statement a police team succeeded in tracing the missing student from the house of Mohammad Rafiq Bhat son of Abdul Rehman resident of Habak, Nigeen where he was staying as a tenant.
Police said in a statement that the statement recorded from the said student revealed that he was “under stress” for unknown reasons.
“Aqib stated that he had spent 1st night at SKIMS Soura, 2nd at SMHS and thereafter during day hours visited a friend’s house at Baramulla and spent the 3rd night again at SMHS Hospital, Srinagar,” police said.
After proper counselling the student was handed over to Chief Proctor University of Kashmir in presence of his relatives and friends, police added.
As was reported earlier that on 22-02-2017 Chief Procter university of Kashmir reported in police station Nigeen to the effect that a student namely Aqib Mushtaq Malik son of Mushtaq Ahmad, a student of LLB 3rd Semester resident of Pinjoora, Shopian was missing since 21th of February afternoon. Accordingly a missing report, vide DD number 12 was lodged in Police Station Nigeen.
Subsequently a special investigation team headed by SDPO Hazratbal was constituted to trace out the missing student, police concluded.
