JAMMU: A group of 20 Bee Keepers of Ramban District was flagged off by Joint Director Agriculture Jammu Kulbhushan Singh Sambyal for exposure visit outside state under Chief Ministers Project on Apiculture.
Sambyal while interacting with the farmers on the occasion said that the exposure visits are conducted to make the bee keepers aware regarding latest innovations and tools, bee hives, extractors being used in the adjoining states in the apiculture sector. Sambyal further said that Ramban district has good potential for bee keeping and the farmers can increase their farm income through scientific management of their apiaries.
The farmers group will visit Punjab Agriculture University (PAU) Ludhiana, Tiwana Farm, Kartarpur, Aitsar and Bee Keeping Research Centre of ICAR at Nagrota (HP) during their seven days visit. Bulesh Zutshi, Deputy Director (Trainings), S Malvinder Singh, Assistant Soil Chemist, s Daisy Bhan, Assistant Agriculture Chemist, Ayaz Reshi, Apiculture Development Officer and other officers were also present on the occasion. Abdul Waheed Mir, AEO, Altaf Ahmad Malik, AEO and Abdul Rashid Shan, AEO are also accompanying the farmers.
