Srinagar: Municipal Corporation will issue prompt building permission for repairs and renovations that shall be endorsed on an application, Commissioner SMC Dr Shafqat Khan said Thursday. Stating that obtaining building permission for repairs and renovations would no more be a lengthy process, Dr Khan said an application would only need to submit an application along with the prerequisite documents before the concerned ward officers of their areas. “The concerned ward officer after going through the documents will have site inspection and directly put up his report before commissioner for the approval. This will not only save time of the applicant but will also help to dispose of long pending files to a large extent,” Khan said.
The Commissioner also instructed the planning wing of SMC to dispose of the building permissions within a stipulated time under Public Service Guarantee Act.
“There shall be no inconvinience to the general public who intend to take building permission. The building permission on the whole has to be a speedy process at large” said Khan.
The ward officers have also been directed to conduct site inspection of permitted construction on routine basis, so that the individual does not deviate from sanctioned plan. Meanwhile, officials said that five “unauthorised” structures coming up at Ali Jan road Eidgah were Thursday demolished by SMC.
