JAMMU: Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura Thursday attended meeting where he asked New Delhi to give further boost to agriculture sector activities in Jammu and Kashmir.
He specially sought Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) for Gurez and Zanaskar and Yak development Centre for Leh to improve agriculture and allied activities in the cold desert region of Ladakh.
Hanjura also raised the issues related to upgrading amenities for students and general infrastructure in Sher-e-Kashmir Agricultural University of Science and Technology (SKAUST) Kashmir and Jammu.
The GoI assured Hanjura Minister that the action regarding these issues will be taken on priority.
Singh said that since agriculture is state subject, so State Agriculture Ministers have an important role in its progress. On this occasion Agriculture Minister appealed to all the representatives to develop scientists-state-farmer linkage and to work in coordination with GoI for the prosperity of farmers and progress of agriculture.
