BUDGAM: Chief Education Officer Budgam has suspended 12 teachers working in different government institutions who were found involved in continuing private tuitions despite ban imposed by the high court and implemented by the directorate of school education.
An official document with Kashmir Reader reveals that CEO Budgam has suspended 12 teachers, seven of them working in gazette cadre.
According to an order, seven officers were recommended for disciplinary action as warranted under the rules while as the non-gazetted teachers were suspended with immediate effect.
The suspended officials include Abdul Majeed Bhat, principal BHSS Loridora Baramulla, Bashir Ahmad lecturer BHSS Magam, Gulzar Ahmad lecturer GHSS Magam, Gulam Mohammad Thokar lecturer BHSS Tarhama, Syed Mubashir lecturer BHSS Soibug, Tasaduk Hussain lecturer BHSS Budgam and Farooq Ahmad, lecturer HSS Hafroo.
The non gazetted teachers include Bashir Ahmad Yatoo master Middle School Zanigam, Kifayat Hussain teacher high school SK Pora, Tariq Ahmad teacher high school Batpora, Imtiyaz Ahmad teacher GHSS Magam and Aijaz Ahmad teacher BHSS Soibug.
According to Chief Education Officer Budgam Inderjeet Sharma 18-coaching centres have been recommended for closure. He said as many as 24 coaching centres have applied for registration and are under observation.
