Resistance leaders pay tributes to slain Kulgam militants, civilians

Oppression pushing youth to armed struggle: Mirwaiz
Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq expressed deep sorrow over the killings in Kulgam saying a severe oppression and refusal to acknowledge and engage with the basic political right and aspiration of the people is pushing our young towards armed resistance and we are losing our most vital resource of future.
Terming the killing of civilians Adil Reshi and Mushtaq Ahmed Itoo and injuring of scores of people, many among them critically, in indiscriminate firing upon unarmed protesters during cordon of the area by the Indian forces, as deplorable and showing scant regard for the people of Kashmir as humans by the authoritarian state.
Mirwaiz said firing bullets and pellets at civilians to kill, blind, injure or maim them has become routine and standard response of the anti-Kashmir state to any and every protest in a bid to crush them.
