Boycott courts on Monday in protest: Bar

Srinagar: The Jammu Kashmir High Court Bar Association on Sunday condemned the “brutal act of firing on the unarmed civilians at Nagbal, Frisal Kulgam, in which two civilians lost their lives and dozens others, sustained grievous bullet and pellet injuries.
In a statement, the association maintained that killing and injuring of innocent unarmed civilians by use of bullets and pellets, is an inhuman and barbaric act and it should be condemned by all who believe in democracy and in respecting the human rights of the people and abhor the use of force against them. The Bar reiterated that India and its stooges in Kashmir will achieve nothing by killing, injuring and maiming the people and that if India genuinely believes that it is the biggest democracy of the world and it deserves to be made a permanent member of the security council on that count, it should shun its arrogance and rigidity and by showing regard and respect for the human rights of people of Kashmir.
The Bar Association supported the shutdown call given by the pro-freedom leadership for February 13 and requested all its members to abstain from court work to show their solitary with those who sacrificed their lives at Nagbal Frasil Kulgam for the “sacred cause of freedom”.
