Clashes erupt in Palhalan after prayers

Srinagar: The government forces used tear smoke shells to disperse hundreds of protesters in volatile Palhalan Pattan area on Friday.
Local sources said that soon after the congregational prayers were over people tried to assemble and raised pro-freedom and anti-India slogans.
They said that men in uniform tried to chase the protesters who pelted stones on them resulting in clashes.
Sources said that heavy clashes were going on near the government higher secondary school Palhalan, when reports last came in however there were no reports of any injuries so far.
Pertinently, the joint resistance leaders, Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik had called for UN march after Friday prayers however authorities imposed restrictions in Srinagar parts to thwart the march.
