SRINAGAR: A group of employees working with the social welfare department under the banner of Social Welfare Employees and Working Women Association (SEAWWA), on Monday staged a protest demonstration against perpetual stagnation in the department. They complained that the commissioner secretary’s office notified the list of junior supervisors and promoted them as in-charge Child Development Project Officer (CDPO). They demanded immediate promotion of the senior supervisors recruited before 1990’s.
“I have been serving the social welfare department for the last 25 years as a supervisor, but till date I have not been promoted to in-charge CDPO while as my junior batch recruited in the year 2008 have been promoted, president SEAWWA Abida War said. “This is totally injustice to us,” she said.
“Stagnation in promotion and pay anomaly of ICDS supervisors is grave injustice to the qualified employees,” War said.
