Resistance leadership calls for shutdown on Feb 9 and 11

Srinagar: Resistance leadership comprising of Syed Ali Geelani. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik Tuesday called for a complete and state-wide shut down on 9th and 11th February, in connection with the death anniversaries of late Maqbool Bhat and Afzal Guru.
In a statement the leadership appealed people to march to UNO office on February 10 and hold special prayers on these days as a tribute to Bhat and Guru who were executed on these days respectively.
While reiterating their demand for the return of the mortal remains of both Bhat and Guru who were buried in the Tihar Jail premises, the leaders said, “although it is purely a human issue, India is very reluctant to this demand thereby violating all the principles of morality and constitution and in this way its claim of a largest democracy in the world is getting badly uncovered.”
Calling Bhat and Guru as the “heroes of the Kashmiri nation”, leaders said, “we are proud of them”.
