DDC Shopian discusses convergence plan for 2017-18

SHOPIAN: District Development Commissioner Shopian, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, on Wednesday convened a meeting to discuss district convergence plan for financial year 2017-18 and directed the officers to prepare detailed project reports for implementation of convergence plan under MGNREGA.

The meeting was informed that Rs 19 crore under labor component of MGNREGA would be available for the district in year 2017-18. It was said that a share of the labor component would be apportioned for the works to be executed under convergence mode with line Departments.

The DDC was briefed that seven play grounds would be constructed involving a labor budget of Rs 9.40 lakh, similarly Soil Conservation Department would ensure plantation of six thousand plants involving a labor budget of Rs 7.12 lakh.

While addressing the meeting the DDC directed the concerned officers to ensure timely preparation of convergence plans under MGNREGA and their proper implementation at ground level for creation of durable assets, besides providing work to the rural work force at their door step.
