Anti-PDD protesters tear gassed in Bandipora

Bandipora: Police resorted to tear gas shelling to disperse the resident of Ganie Mohalla in Kaloosa, Bandipora Saturday who were protesting against PDD for non-availability of electricity in their area.
The protesters blocked Bandipora-Srinagar road to protest against JKPDD, thus hampering the movement.
The protesters while talking to Kashmir Reader said that their electric transformer developed some sang five days ago, because of snowfall. “Despite repeated assurances from the officials that the transformer will be repaired, nothing concrete has been done in this regard”, they alleged.
As the protests prolonged police swung into action and lathicharged the protesters. Eyewitnesses said that police also fired many tear smoke shells to disperse them.
