1463 buildings vacated, forces shifted to alternate accommodations

Jammu: The government on Friday revealed that security forces have vacated 495 government buildings and 968 private buildings in the state.
In a written reply to Congress legislator from Bandipore Usman Majeed, chief minister Mehbooba Mufti stated that 495 government buildings and 968 private buildings have been vacated by security forces by shifting them to alternate accommodation constructed for the purpose.
‘’The Government of India as well as the state government have issued directions from time to time for vacation of all premises including government as well as private buildings under occupation of security forces in the state, for which the funds are released in phased manner by ministry of home affairs, government of India for construction of alternate accommodation,” CM revealed.
In a another question regarding the fact that buildings of fisheries department at various locations in Bandipora constituency are still under the occupation of security forces, CM replied that buildings of fisheries Department at Bapoir, Ajas, Papchan in Bandipora constituency are still under the occupation of security forces and steps are being taken for identification of alternate accommodation.
