Girls left out in BPL survey

JAMMU: Minister for social welfare, Sajad Gani Lone informed the House that a number of girls belonging to below poverty line [BPL] have been left out during the survey.
Replying to a question, Lone said that entitled girls belonging to the BPL category have been left out during the recent survey and added that as per present scheme, directions of the High Court the benefit is being given to only those girls who are included in the survey conducted by deputy commissioner of the concerned districts in the year 2012-2013.
He added that that the High Court in its latest decision has directed the social welfare department to conduct fresh survey, as well as to identify the girls living presently below poverty line but are not included in the survey.
In an another question regarding the number of cases sanctioned under state marriage assistance scheme in the year 2015-Novemebr 2016, the minister replied that under such scheme 3117 girls were benefitted under such scheme across the state.
As per the data provided by government,  the number of cases sanctioned under said scheme, Pulwama topped the list by 330 cases, followed by Rajouri with 250, 245 in Udhampur, 196 in Srinagar, 83 in Ganderbal,23 in Leh, 123 in Budgam, 210 in Bandipora,117 in Kupwara,66 in Kargil,129 in Anantnag,130 in samba,67 in Kathua , 104 in Doda,187 in Jammu,210 in Reasi,163 in Kishtwar,161 in Ramban and 195 in Shopian.

Teacher salary pending due to lack of funds
In an another reply over The delay in disbursement of salary to the teaching staff under RMSA and SSC was caused by less receipt of funds from Government of India against approved allocation, Minister of Education Naeem Akhtar informed the state legislature on Tuesday.
“Under SSA  against the approved central allocation of 177259.49 lacs, only two instalments comprising of 83275.45 lacs and 9246.11 lacs have been received so far from government of India, which stands further release to the state project director, SSA  for payment of salaries to the concerned teaching staff , in casé of RAMSA  salaries stand paid up to October, 2016, and balance is being shortly  released,’’ he said and added that for the release of balance centre share matter vigorously followed by MRHD.  ]
