Cop injured in grenade blast, clashes erupt in Pulwama villages

Pulwama: A policeman was injured when suspected militants attacked a police naka party in a Pulwama village on Tuesday evening, SSP Pulwama Mohammed Rayees Bhat told Kashmir Reader.
He said militants fired a grenade at a police naka party at Hall village area of Pulwama, injuring a policeman, Firdous Ahmad. The injured was immediately taken to a nearby hospital. The militants managed to escape.
Following the attack, a search operation has been launched to nab the militants responsible for the attack.
Meanwhile, clashes between the government forces and local youth broke out in Lelhar and Karimabad villages in the same district during a search operation, sources told Kashmir Reader. They said that forces laid a siege and started search operation in the villages after inputs about the presence of militants there. Youth of both the villages took to streets and pelted stones on government forces during the search operation and forces responded with teargas shelling.
Clashes were going on Karimabad village when reports last came in.
