August 15, January 26 are days of mourning: DeM

Srinagar: Dukhtaran-e-Millat chief Asiya Andrabi on Monday said that for the people of Kashmir August 15 and January 26 were not the days of celebration but the days of mourning that reminds the people of worst subjugation.
“We can in no way observe India’s republic day nor have we ever observed it,” Andrabi said in a statement. “They have butchered lacs of our youth and recently blinded thousands others,” she said.
“India is an oppressor and an occupier. They have not only occupied us but our culture as well,” Andrabi said.
She said that India and its stooges have crept into our culture and started aggression culturally as well. They want to eradicate our culture, traditions and ethos.
“Their own culture, ethos and traditions have already vanished as is apparent in their day to day lives.
“The sole aim of India is our political occupation and destroying our culture,” Aasiyah said and added, “Kashmir has a unique culture and tradition and they are hell bent to destroy it.”
Andrabi advocated for observing complete shutdown on January 26. “It should be apparent to the oppressor and their stooges that we are not with them,” she said.
