SRINAGAR: There are only 2504 daily rated workers in all departments who are yet to be regularized in the state, government informed state legislative assembly on Thursday.
Replying to a question by MLA Batamaloo, Finance Minister against 59904 reported Dally Rated Workers by all the departments and registered with the Finance Department, 57402 have been regularized till date.
“The Empowered Committee constituted for the purpose is meeting on regular intervals and will continue to meet till last one Daily Rated Worker eligible and registered with the Finance Department is cleared for regularization,” he said.
The government has already imposed a blanket ban on the engagement of Daily Rated Workers after cut-off date of 31 January 1994. The government, however, permits four departments— Agriculture Production, Public Works (R&B), PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control and Power Development—to engage casual need based workers for whom there is no policy in vogue.
