Mufti had role in eroding JK autonomy: NC MLA

Jammu: Former chief minister and PDP patron late Mufti Muhammad Sayeed was responsible for eroding the autonomy of J&K and the massacres carried out by government forces in the early 90s, National Conference legislator from Budgam Aga Ruhula said.
Speaking in the assembly during a discussion on the governor’s address, Aga said, “Chief minister Mehbooba Mufti blames Opposition, parents and security agencies for killings (during last year’s uprising) but she is not accepting her responsibility for the killings.”
Reacting to CM’s statement blaming National Conference for the insurgency and 2010 uprising and blaming NC founder Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah for current political mess, Aga said, “Let me remind you that Sheikh Sahab was arrested in 1953 and was in jail till 1975. Only the politicians who were at the helm during this period are responsible for eroding state’s autonomy and Mufti sahib was one among them.”
‘Mufti Mohammed Syed was home minister and part of central government in 1990…CM has been changing her stance… you are crying for those who were killed and blinded, you are shedding tears for the security personnel who were responsible (for killings) and suddenly you are showing your patriotism towards New Delhi. Mehbooba Ji, can you say on whose side are you?
‘’In 1987 if NC is responsible so is your father because he was part of it (the NC-Cong coalition then). In 1990, Mufti sahab was Home Minister of India, on his directions Jagmohan was given charge as governor of Kashmir, he committed massacres in Kashmir. Gaw Kadal massacre, Bijbehara massacre or firing on funeral of Molvi Farooq, in which scores of innocent people were killed occurred during Jagmohan’s rule. Jagmohan was responsible for that but who sent him? Your father,’’ he said.
