Kangan: The daily-wagers of power development corporation (PDC) on Sunday held a protest demonstration here demanding regularisation of their services.
A large number of daily wagers gathered at power house Kangan shouting slogans and holding placards to demand that the promise made by the government be fulfilled.
The protesting daily wagers complained that out of a total of 254 daily wagers of the PDC from Kashmir province, as many as 180 are working in power house Kangan and are waiting regularisation for the past 25 years.
In a cabinet decision on August 13, 2012 it was decided that all the PDD and PDC daily wagers will be regularised under SRO-381after which case was referred to the management committee of PDC on December 24 in the same year.
They added that despite publishing their names in the local news papers for no objection after accepting the order by the board meeting in 2013, the orders for their regularisation are yet to be issued .
They have appealed to the chief minister and power minster of the state to look in to the matter.
The strike by the daily-wagers impacted the power generation in the power house at USHP 2nd Kangan.
Workers have held several protests over the past few months urging the state government to fulfill their long pending demands.
