Srinagar: Incarcerated JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik was on Friday night shifted to central jail Srinagar. Malik along with three others was arrested in Pulwama at 2:30pm Friday.
A JKLF press release said that the Pulwama police kept Mailk in custody for ten hours without giving him water and at 12.30 in the night shifted him and the three others arrested to central jail.
Terming the actions of the police as callous and inhuman, the JKLF chairman in his message from jail said that what happened in Pulwama on Friday was state-sponsored terrorism. He said that police and paramilitary forces without any provocation started shelling and cane-charging peaceful people, injuring about two dozen of them.
Malik said that the shelling by police was so harsh that he felt unconscious and breathless. Had Javed Ahmad Butt, Shabir Ahmad Nengru and Nazir Ahmad Butt not provided him help, he would have fallen on the ground, he said.
The JKLF chairman said that the three persons who helped him were being punished by putting them behind bars.
Terming police stations as Abu Ghraib-type torture centers, Malik said that terrorising common people has become a hallmark of JK police, which is pushing the new generation to the wall and promoting worst kind of violence in Jammu and Kashmir.
