Srinagar: The General officer commanding-in-chief of the northern command Lt Gen D Anbu arrived here on a two-day visit review the prevailing security situation in Kashmir Valle.
The topmost Indian army officer in the Udhampur based northern command visited the forward posts along-with XV corps commander Lt Gen JS Sandhu. The two officers were briefed by the local commanders on existing security situation and the measures instituted to ensure close coordination with all government agencies towards maintaining vigil and peace in the valley.
According to a defence spokesman, while expressing his satisfaction over the synergetic conduct of the entire security apparatus, Lt Gen Anbu stressed on the need to continue the measures and urged the forces to take necessary steps to ensure adequate domination and security of the lines of communication so as to keep them open and safe for the general public.
The army commander will be briefed by the corps commander and other officers at the XV corps headquarters on the overall situation along the LoC and the hinterland.
