Islamabad: Rights activists and civil society members of Pakistan on Friday held a protest demonstration against India for perpetrating the worst kind of human rights violations in Kashmir. The demonstration was held near Islamabad Press Club and was organised by Amina Masood Janjua, chairperson of Defence of Human Rights Pakistan.
Besides condemning the unending restrictions and human rights abuses in Kashmir, the speakers demanded the release of Kashmiri prisoners, especially Khurram Pervez, who has been recently booked under the draconian law of Public Safety Act (PSA).
Those who spoke on the occasion included Ramesh Kumar of MNA Pakistan Muslim League (N), Amina Masood Janjua, Tahira Abdullah, Saleem Haroon (JKLF), and Hassan Bana representative (All Parties Hurriyat Conference).
A similar protest rally was taken out in Pakistan-administered Kashmir’s (PaK) Rawalakot district by the JKLF under the leadership of its vice chairman Saleem Haroon.
