DAK raises Rs 16.7 lakh in donations for injured

Srinagar: Dr Mir Mushtaq, spokesperson of the Doctors’ Association of Kashmir (DAK), said in a statement to the press on Friday that during the current unrest the DAK has raised an amount of Rs 16.7 lakh from donations from the doctor fraternity and other donors both in and outside Jammu and Kashmir. Of this money, DAK has been able to supply medications and devices to the tune of Rs 15 lakh to SMHS and SKIMS hospitals in Srinagar. In addition to this, financial assistance to injured patients has also been provided, the spokesperson said.
President of DAK Dr GM Mir has expressed his gratitude to all members of the association and donors. He also appreciated the efforts of medical staff who have been working with dedication.
The spokesperson said that DAK is in the process of auditing the expenditures and details will be made public soon.
