Rasheed protests outside police hqs against atrocities on Jammu Muslims

Srinagar: AIP workers led by Engineer Rasheed on Thursday staged a one-hour sit-in protest in front of the DGP’s office in Srinagar to complain against atrocities on Jammu Muslims. In the afternoon, dozens of AIP volunteers holding placards in support of Jammu Muslims and against communal forces sat outside the main gate of police headquarters Peer Bagh and started chanting slogans seeking end to injustice, arrests and PSAs in Jammu region.
Talking to media persons, Rasheed said, “The divisional administration in Jammu is being completely controlled by fringe and radical Hindu forces and from local SHOs to top rank police officers, the directions given by local Sangh Parivar leaders have become like government orders. DGP should ensure an end to state terrorism in Jammu region and must order unconditional release of all those arrested in Chenab valley during last few weeks. There can be nothing worse than lodging FIRs against prominent citizens and religious clerks.”
The protestors also sought immediate release of human rights activist Khurram Parvez.
