Srinagar: Awami Ittihad Party President and MLA Langate Sheikh Rasheed on Wednesday assured the Muslims of Jammu that Kashmiris despite being themselves the worst victims of state terrorism will leave no stone unturned to ensure that the Muslims in Jammu region are not left at the mercy of Hindu radical forces and RSS-BJP controlled administration. He said that it is an established fact that the government is scared of peaceful activities in Jammu province and wants to hide the atrocities on Muslims in Jammu region. Er Rasheed accused Sang Parivar of forcing Mehbooba Mufti to act like Nagpur’s Nagin against Jammu Muslims to implement the nefarious designs of the Parivar. He asked Mehbooba Mufti to take the wakeup call of her conscience and not become a part of larger conspiracy against Jammu Muslims. “We will be forced to use all possible ways and measures to set her slavish mindset back to track,” he said.
Er Rasheed further added that tomorrow AIP will hold a peaceful sit-in in front of state police chief’s office against the arrest of Muslim clerics, fake cases against youth and draconian measures to prevent Muslims of Jammu from raising peaceful voice in support of resolution of J&K dispute.
He alleged that he was dragged, thrashed, abused and arrested on the outskirts of Kishtwar early on Wednesday. In a statement AIP said a five member delegation of AIP led by Er Rasheed was on way to a four day visit to Chenab Valley to assess the situation arisen due to highhandedness of police and civil administration against Muslim community.
As soon as Er Rasheed and his colleagues reached Chatroo Kishtwar, a heavy contingent of police stopped their vehicle and asked them to go back to Kashmir. The concerned SHO started using harsh and rude language against Er Rasheed and when Er Rasheed refused to go back, cops trained their guns and used highly abusive language.
Er Rasheed and his colleagues were dragged and forced back in their vehicle and halted for more than three hours inside the vehicle. Later they were again thrashed and bundled in another police vehicle and returned to Kashmir valley through Sinthan Top. However, during the whole journey the concerned SHO who was driving the vehicle himself, continued to lose cool and called more than many times Er Rasheed a Pakistani proxy. The said police officer was so furious that he didn’t allow the detainees to respond to call of nature despite periodic requests.
