Clashes in Kokernag, Qazigund, highway closed for traffic

Srinagar: Clashes erupted in south Kashmir’s Kokernag village and Qazigund after Friday prayers in the ongoing anti-India uprising in the Valley.
During the clashes, a youth was arrested by police in Qazigund triggering more protests in the area. The 300-km Srinagar-Jammu highway was closed as people raising pro-freedom slogans have assembled at the main Bazar Qazingund.

After the prayers, at Kokernag’s Sehlipora village clashes are going on between youth and the forces. People had planned a rally in the village but the forces stop it triggering clashes. The forces did not allow media persons to cover the protests.
