Srinagar: Kashmir High Court Bar Association welcomed as ‘highly appreciable’ the speech by Pakistan Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif in UN General Assembly.
The Pakistan premier said that peace between India and Pakistan was not possible without the resolution of the Kashmir dispute and demanded that an impartial probe into rights violations by government forces in Kashmir.
In a statement issued here, the Bar Association also appreciates the statement of the Pakistan Prime Minister, “who has fully supported the demand of Kashmiri people for right of self-determination as promised to them by several Security Council Resolutions and also the offer made by him to India for entering into a serious and sustaining dialogue for the resolution of Kashmir dispute.”
Bar also appreciated the stand taken by the Pakistan Prime Minister that the struggle of the Kashmiri people for the right of self-determination was a legitimate and that they have waited for 70 years for the implementation of the promises made to them by the Security Council from time to time.
The lawyers’ body also appreciates and thanks the Chinese Premier, Li Kequaing for supporting the right of self-determination of the people of Kashmir and for expressing concern regarding “Indian atrocities” in Kashmir and for offering to play a constructive role in improvement of relations between India and Pakistan.
