Nawaz Sharif invokes Burhan Wani in United Nations Assembly

Srinagar: Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday in his address to United National General Assembly said Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani has emerged as a symbol of latest Kashmiri ‘Intifada’.

He said the uprising in Kashmir is met with brutal force by Indian and Pakistan supports Kashmir’s demand for right to self determination.

Sharif also said Pakistan wants peace with India instead of confrontation and it was ready to enter into a serious dialogue with India for peaceful resolutions of all outstanding disputes especially Kashmir.

He also said his country will handover a dossier listing “human rights violations” in Kashmir to the UN Secretary General while asking the UNGA to take steps to demilitarise the Valley.
