PDP leader Nisar Mandoo resigns from party

Srinagar: Nisar Ahmad Mandoo, Senior Vice President, District Srinagar, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) announced his resignation from the basic membership of the party in a press conference in Srinagar on Sunday.
At the press conference Mandoo said that he was resigning because he could not “side with the bloodbath”.
Mandoo cited the civilian killings by government troops and the “anti-people policies adopted by RSS-backed BJP-PDP collation” as the reason for his resignation.
Earlier, one of the founding members and Member of Parliament from Srinagar, Tariq Karra, resigned from the PDP in protests against the government presiding over numerous civilian killings in Kashmir.
